I had my previous Montgomery-Ward microwave convection oven for 27 years. It had it all, convection 1 and 2, temp probe, and dozens of programs. It knew me. I knew it. So when it made a strange loud sound, think death rattle, I knew it was time to replace "my baby." So I researched every article I could find on microwaves. It took many days. But hey, at my age, this is the last microwave I will buy, well if it last 27 years. I settled on the Sharp R-930cs. Oh I read that the convection oven is slow. Well duh! First and foremost it is a microwave first and an oven second. I was worried about how long it would take me to learn this new machine. See I hate to have to read a bunch of stuff. I found the Sharp to be very intuitive and very forgiving and polite even. I have put it through its paces the last 6 weeks; stews, casseroles, baking and of course warming up my coffee and reheating pizza. My hobby is cooking so I used every feature found on this unit. Yes the oven is slow to warm up, but I'm retired and not in a hurry. I have found this microwave to live up to the hype. I do miss my temp probe, and for some reason can't seem to pop a decent bag of popcorn, and I miss my door handle vs the push button. But other than that I am happy I purchased this particular, handsome, product. Time will tell.

Have had several of these Sharp microwave/convection ovens over the years and they are terrific. They roast, bake and cook meats better than any other method. Things are moist, flavorful and crisp on the outside. Even more terrific was the service and delivery from Amazon.

I got a house that for some reason had every appliance except for an oven. Well, I could have paid thousands of dollars for contractors to come out and install a wall oven and modify all the cabinets etc etc, but instead I just got this. It's perfect! It bakes at full temperature, and we no longer have to keep adjusting the recipes for lower cook temperatures (like we did with my old counter-top oven). Now people no longer laugh at me for not having a real oven.

I purchased my first Sharp R-930AW in 1997 and it was a workhorse. I especially love the combination feature, since the convection browns food and the microwave cooks things faster. And, the larger size will handle anything but a turkey. I wouldn't think of cooking a roast or baked potato in my conventional oven. When the display window started to get dim and the turntable intermittently failed, the decision to buy another of the same was easy. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the 2010 model is identical.
